By accident I stumbled on this repair too.
When the garbage men two weeks ago were looking for stray garbage/litter, they thought this had to be taken too. The garbage man took hold of it, yanked it and quickly realized it was chained to the grill it’s protecting!
So this repair had as anti-theft/garbageman protection 🙂
