Shell quartier
I revisited the facade on the Gentse Steenweg number 253, where six years ago, an elaborate decoration made out of shells could be seen. They have been taken down.

Across the street, the downstairs floor of the first house on the right in the Rue Vanderdussen has adopted the same style of beautification. A neighbor assures me the inhabitant is not the same person. On my question how the similarity in style can occur he shrugs his shoulder and speculates that it is must be in the air. And yes, Mediterranean influences around here are common.
